One: From the June 2008 issue of Dwell, photograph by Jesse Chehak. This is the Brooklyn apartment of a Goldman Sachs VP, an opera singer, and their daughter. I am posting this not only because it is gorgeous, but also because is the most creative use of Ikea cabinets I've ever seen. (Sorry about my crappy scan job.)
Two: The package design for some fancy soap by one of the finalists for the Design*Sponge Scholarship, Jamie Karoses. (Voting is going on now; visit designspongeonline.com to view finalists' work and enter a vote.)
Three: From Jane Cumberbatch's Pure Style Living (scored for under $2 used from Amazon!), photograph by Pia Tryde. I am creating a homasote board like this for a wall in my apartment that I never knew what to do with. It works perfect for the tall, narrow wall. Mav turned me on to this book; read her interview with Cumberbatch here.
Four: Some work by the photographer Melvin Grier, who spoke in a class of mine on Thursday. One of my favorites is here.
Hope your weekend is thoroughly enjoyable!
