Ok, all you couch potatoes, 'fess up:
Are you as obsessed with the Olympics as I am?
Well, maybe not obsessed... but I just can't get enough of men's swimming, and especially this year's all-star merman, Michael Phelps.
There was a really nice story in The New York Times last Friday about his childhood. Apparently he was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and even put on Ritalin for a while. The article is the sort which is, um, almost-a-little-too-sweet and inspiring (just look at the last paragraph: "Too many adults looked at Ms. Phelps’s boy and saw what he couldn’t do. This week, the world will be tuned to the Beijing Olympics to see what he can do,") but to me it was overall just really interesting because I was curious about him as a person - out of the pool. Watching him swim is absolutely breathtaking.
