This afternoon, by myself, I went to see a matinee of Vicky Cristina Barcelona. All I basically knew about it was that it was Woody Allen's new movie and had Penelope Cruz in it. I really like Scarlett Johanssen, as well. Anyway, I loved it - I've been a fan of his movies for a while, but actually haven't seen a ton of them. It was fantastic to see Javier Bardem in such a completely different role than he played in No Country For Old Men (which portrayed him as basically a monster - though I did love that movie). He was quite likable here. And very sexy.
After watching a New York Times Magazine video interview with Penelope Cruz, I had to see this flick. You should definitely check it out. I don't want to say too much more about it because I think the way I did it, going in with no expectations, was the best way to experience the movie.
